Expressions control mind

By adjusting the way you walk, stand, sit and look, you will not only make your physical self healthier, but will also develop a more positive mental attitude. Prove this to yourself. Stand with your shoulders sagging, spine bent, stomach drooping, arms hanging limply by your sides. Put on a glum expression. Become the image of a dejected depressed individual. That done, say aloud, "I feel terrific." Now change your whole posture. Stand upright. Tilt back your head slightly. Raise your eyes. Draw in your abdomen slightly. Smile broadly and shout , "I feel terrific!" Which felt better? The answer has got to be the second stance. Our emotions, posture, and expressions are intimately linked. Don't wait until you feel happy to smile; start smiling and the happy feeling will follow. This is the power of positive thought. There could well be a sound physiological explanation for the link between a happy expression and a positive mental attitude. Professor Zajonc suggests that it has to do with creating emotions rather than merely reflecting them. In other words we are meant to smile not because we feel happy but, rather, to help us feel happy.

Devil's Dictionary
Pray, v. To ask that the laws of the universe be annulled for a single petitioner confessedly unworthy.
Splitting the nucleus
.....The eunuch. Do we ever see them as they are _ warm, beautiful
sensitive human beings? People who are capable of the same feelings and emotions as we are. For most of us, a eunuch is an incomplete person or not a person at all. We are unable to see beyond our initial fear and distaste, unable to see what lies behind their facade of an
aggressive and loud persona. With the dawn of each new day they are compelled to be the unwilling subjects of hatred, contempt, disgust and prejudice. This only leads to a cycle of anger and resentment, which must be broken. Is it so difficult to accept the fact that there is a third gender, which is neither male nor female but which could be more complete than either. They do not cling to a single identity; they can be male, female, and eunuch as the occasion demands. We are all a combination of the yin and the yang; and yet we cling to only one way of being.

A Place to be or not be
Early in the morning at half past five, Another day to live, another day to survive,
Another day to strive for the day's goal,
To find food to keep together body &soul.
Dark clouds cover the sunny sky,
But at least you hope that these will clear.
The sun will shine once more,
But who will clear the black clouds
of society - of greed, pain, anger and fear.
The sun will shine from time to time
But when will it shed its divine light
On customs of society - to destroy all crime
So that each person can float away freely like a kite with no strings
To pull you back from meetings with life's most enjoyable springs.

This quarter

Spontaneity, improvisation, powerful voices, breath control, foot tapping music and of course lots of laughter is what we've been upto this quarter. Since the voice is the most effective emoter, we at SPEED have decided to make it our area of expertise. So, if you hear a nice, loud, rich voice you can be sure it's a SPEED kid. We have also tapped their creativity with lots of craft. In short, under the supervision of Poonam Sareen, our director, this term has been quite productive and a lot of fun. Basically learning through fun is what SPEED is all about. This term ends on 26th Sept. Classes start on 6th November.
